UES provides complete state of the art solution for the designing of new high quality HVAC system for patient isolation rooms that may reduce most of the air borne infections in patients, HCWs & visitors.
The risk of getting contracted with pathogenic infections in an isolation room is always present if proper engineering controls for air ventilation & filtration are absent.
Isolation rooms are classified into two categories:
Protective Isolation Room
Patients that are immunosuppressed (bone marrow transplant, burn victims, oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy, organ transplant recipients, etc.) are highly susceptible to infection from bacteria as well as fungus found in patient care facilities. Nosocomial aspergillus infections are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in immunosuppressed patients. These patients require protective isolation (protecting the patient from their immediate environment).
Infectious Isolation Room
Patients that have highly contagious diseases (tuberculosis, meningitis, etc.) require infectious isolation (protecting staff and visitors from the patient).
We provide specialized ventilation system for both types of isolation rooms:
- To separate patients who are likely to be infectious to other persons
- To provide an environment that will allow reduction of the concentration of airborne particles through various engineering methods
- To prevent escape of airborne particles from such rooms into the corridor and other area of the facility using direction airflow
- To protect patients who are immunocomprised from potential harmful pathogens
We at UES not only recognize the life threatening risks for HCWs, patients & visitors of getting infected in isolation rooms but also provide complete engineering solutions to minimize the present dangers of being infected.
A proper engineered environmental control is a need for every isolation rooms. |
